But of course not all of us has the gusts to come right out and say this is what we want and we're going for it. And thus a lot of our fantasies remain hidden and are never explored. Now of course everyone will say where's the fun in that?! But again those that do say it are the ones that have the guts to get out there and let fantasy become reality. In this read from the very talented Joanne Rock she introduces us to Miranda and takes us on her journey off trying to get away and start a new life instead she runs into the one man that is her every fantasy come to life. But she only keeps it all written and does not have the guts to act on it, but Damien has other plans. I loved this book. It was so very hot the pages set alight in my hands. The scorching hot electricity of passion between the main characters was so extremely intense it brought me to the conclusion that this author is without a doubt one of the best storytellers of our time. The character of Damien had me laughing out load, as he gets at first uncomfortable with bringing to life the fantasies of Miranda and with having to try and remember that Miss Hollywood is so far from his style as humanly possible. The character of Miranda was also a true delight to read as she tries so very hard to go from celeb to normal. It showed me that little glimpse into the lives of the famous and how hard it is to try and have a normal life. I loved how the author let the fantasies and dreams of Miranda become the dreams of Damien. It was a stunning turn around point for me and it made the read so much more emotional and showed the focus as not only about the sexual fantasies. I am taking away a message of we all have fantasies that we would rather keep hidden because we are afraid of what people might think of us, but when the reality of the fantasy comes walking through the door or as in the case of Miranda comes to her rescue it is not the time to keep on fantasizing it is time to act, or you might just lose out on your one and only chance to get exactly what you have been fantasizing about. I highly recommend this read for all fans of the Blaze line, and for the fans of Joanne Rock. It was a passionate, emotional read filled with many messages that will change your outlook on life. And if you aren't a Blaze series fan, this book is the one that will let you know it is not all about descriptive sex but so much more, there is a romance so deep and emotional hidden in all these reads you just need to like Miranda and Damien grab the chance to find out! 4.5 star review "Where does fantasy end and reality start?"

I was given this book for an honest and impartial review so thanks very much! I grew up reading Harlequin. They were my introduction into the world of romance and boy, have things come a long way since then. My Secret Fantasies belongs to the Blaze line and as such it is a bit more descriptive than what I used to read when I was much, much younger. Those books were so tame by comparison! They stopped where books today are just getting started! They also had a certain format that was followed and I was given this book for an honest and impartial review so thanks very much! They also had a certain format that was followed and now with the newer lines and more modern takes on romance, things have become more fluid. I do have to say that books written in the first person are not a favourite of mine, but more and more authors seem to be using the first person, so I am sort of getting used to it. Do I like it? Not so much, but I certainly don’t mind it as much as I once used to. The heroine of the story was in the first person narrative, yet the hero was in the third person narrative which seemed a bit strange to me and each time I came across the hero and his perspective it sort of yanked me out of the story and then vice versa, going back to the heroine in the first person, so it’s not my favourite way to read a story. Apart from those little gripes, I was finally so relieved to get a story that didn’t have grammatical errors, misspellings or any other issues that normally cause me to cringe and just wish the author had invested in a proofreader and/or a beta reader. Harlequin and Blaze I have to say are brands you can rely on to produce great stories and you know that these stories have been put through their paces before they even hit the printed page – and yes, this book was a paperback! I enjoyed the story of Miranda Cortland and Damien Fraser who both ran from Hollywood for their own reasons. He finds it hard to trust anyone who even has some kind of Hollywood connection, particularly given his family and his early years, growing up in Hollywood among the famous, the wannabe famous and the hangers on! Miranda has had enough of the fame she achieved on a reality TV show. She also wants to escape town because she is worried her former boyfriend and her sister’s ex-husband is coming looking for her. Thanks to the stint on the reality tv show she has enough money to make a dream of running a tea room come true and it just so happens that Damien has a site to sell. The usual things happen on the way to view and buy the property and from there things don’t go the way she expected them to. She runs into Damien on the roadside after her car breaks down and there is an instant attraction. Her fame however might throw a spanner in the works. What happens when Damien learns that she is a sort of celebrity? Will her dreams of running a tea room come true? What about the sinister ex boyfriend? Will he make an appearance? The story was short, sweet in places but also hot and sexy in others. It turns out that Miranda has some issues, well who wouldn’t given her family and experiences, and to get over them she starts to write an erotic novel and Damien becomes her hero in the novel. She and Damien begin to explore each other and as they do this story becomes even hotter but can they get over their issues? I enjoyed seeing both of them on this journey to find true love and to overcome misconceptions and prior prejudices to where they both were in a good place with some hot and sexy action going on between the sheets. Getting there however wasn’t all smooth sailing and there were more than a few rough and dangerous patches which just added to the depth of the story. If you like reading stories about daring to take your life in a different direction and seeing where it leads you, some hot and sexy loving, then this story is well worth reading! Ms. Rock has written a story that has it all, a hot sexy lead, a thoughtful and talented heroine and a supporting cast of animals and humans. Go and grab a copy!

I enjoyed the contrasts in this book, and I love anything with well-written horses. Miranda Cortland left a farm to work waitressing while trying to make it in Hollywood. Some bit parts later, she landed a spot in a last-girl-out reality TV show. Now the modest surprise winner is running from the media who dug up past family rivalries to make her sound unpopular. Opening a tea-room at a northern California Thoroughbred stud farm sounds like a good way to invest her winnings. Damien Fraser, working long hours in his stud in wine country, would be happy to let space to a suitable business. Only, the so-called 'Nebraska Backstabber' is the wrong sort of person, what with her gaudy, impractical clothes, flighty reputation and knack of drawing the wrong kind of attention. He's sorry that Miranda's driven all the way up here, and he'll give her a room for the night, but that's all. A foal is born overnight, wealthy horse-owning guests arrive out of the blue, and the media turns the peaceful barns into a mini circus. I liked and identified with both main characters. Damien also retrains racehorses who didn't make the grade, which as Miranda discovers make exceptional pleasure riding mounts. Miranda hasn't come so far from the farm girl and has excellent cooking skills. Then there's the erotic novel she's determined to write on her laptop, to overcome nerves and persuade herself that she can be a passionate person... and who better to star in it than rugged Damien? The only fault I find is that we are never in doubt that Miranda and Damien will work out their differences. They have so much in common that it's clear they'll make a great couple and it does make for a very believable romance. Joanne Rock has written an enjoyable sizzling-hot adult romance, with Twitter, blogs and flashdrives, but the old-fashioned elements remain with a girl determined to be self-supporting and free of an uneasy past, and a strong man who turns out actually to need a woman in his life.

Miranda Cortland was moving forward in her life. Her past, full of drama, lacking in love and roots, was going to be if not forgotten, buried. At least she hoped. That’s why she packed everything into her beat up car and took off to her next adventure, a little farm stand she hoped to buy and turn into a tearoom. Still, he was making a fresh start. He was creating his future and as much as Miranda wanted to be a part of it, he just knew that she wasn’t going to be able to keep the drama away. Miranda and Damien are both fighting their pasts and without giving too much away they are learning to actually deal with the past and not just bury it “with the handle sticking out.” Will they be able to deal with enough of their respective pasts to see the future? Or will a crazy person enter into the picture and not even give them a chance? Though this is part of a series this book can be read as a stand out, I mean stand alone, and is well worth it. As the series title states it is all about “Forbidden Fantasies.” Ms. Rock shows us a world outside of the “normal” romance comfort zone, but a place she makes safe while allowing us to realize how normal it really is. How many people have wished to put down their fantasies and then live them out? It’s definitely a “fun” way to write. Escape into this forbidden fantasy and enjoy.

Winning a reality show didn’t give Miranda the peace she desired, but it brought her the money she needed to start over again. What she doesn’t expect is to find out that Damien is exactly the man of her dreams, in everything the hero she idealized to the erotic romance she is writing. Also a Hollywood son who turned his back to his former life, Damien found in the farm his own peace. Miranda’s arrival, though, would change the serenity of his house… but maybe not for worse. With the romance as its main focus and, thus, with the relationship between the main characters as the dominant element, this book is a story that lives mostly of two things: sensuality and emotion. It isn’t hard to guess the path the story will go, as far as the interaction between Damien and Miranda is concerned, and so, it’s quite easy to guess how their romance will end. This means that, speaking of great events and conclusions, no great surprises are to be expected. However, more than the end of the journey, what makes this story an interesting read is the path that leads there. And, in this aspect, the story can be quite enthralling, with the more erotic moments being balanced with the right measure of emotion and a very pleasant touch of humor. Also, there’s something very captivating about the main characters’ search for a life away from fame, which both creates empathy and enhances the way their personalities match. Also an interesting aspect in this book is the approach to the questions of fame and the right to privacy. Both Damien and Miranda have a past where their personal lives have been invaded and a story that puts them down that path again. This, of course, leads to some relevant considerations about the price of being famous, making their lives more interesting and the story more intense. Not exactly a surprising book, but a light and enthralling read, My Secret Fantasies introduces two interesting characters and builds them a good story, with romance and sensuality in the right measures and just the right balance of tension and emotion. A good read, overall.

Damien Frasier was also making a new start. Miranda wanted to be part of his life and future, but she wasn't sure that could happen. It would be a life full of drama and she had left her old life to get away from that. Both of them are struggling with their pasts and trying to start new lives. Will they be able to bury the past or will something or someone keep them from doing that? The characters are human with all the same problems as anyone else. The heroine is written in 1st person narrative and the hero, 3rd person narrative A classic romance with some twists, mistakes, pasts and love found too fast. Love at first sight? Most romances have characters falling in love when they first meet. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. The author takes the reader out of their comfort zone of romance that we consider to be "normal". Ms. Rock does this in such a way that the reader sees how normal it is.Wouldn't we all like to imagine our fantasies and put them on paper? What might be even better would be to live them. The author wrote a fictional read that draws the reader into a world that they wished wasn't fictional. Sometimes we think of these kind of fantasies as "taboo". You don't write those kind of things. I see nothing wrong with dreaming and fantasizing, so long as it doesn't go to the extreme. This book was enjoyable and an escape into the fantasy world. But don't we all love those fantasies? Ms. Rock has let us live in our minds the fantasies that are on paper. I would give this book 4 HEARTS. I was given a complimentary copy of MY SECRET FANTASIES from the author, Ms. Joanne Rock for my honest opinion. No other compensation took place.

Well, she’s never been one to let a setback stop her, so she’ll see if she can work on the ranch for a bit while she comes up with Plan B. And Damien Fraser can’t say no to her. Will he let the best thing to walk into his life walk right back out? And will she be able to leave? I’m not a fan of reality shows or their ‘stars’, but Miranda is a very likeable character. She’s nice, gutsy, focused and yet she’s free-spirited, too. It helps that this book isn’t about the show itself, but about the winner’s life after. Not to mention the hurt she’s endured in the past. Damien is a complex, wonderful and flawed character. He is also extremely focused on building his thoroughbred ranch. Watching these two damaged characters come together is beautiful and delightful. I’ve been a reader of Harlequins for decades. Yeesh! That makes me sound really old. I started reading them when I was 10 (my mom gave me the really old tame ones from the 50s) and I now have tons of them in my home library. I remember when Harlequin came out with the Blaze line (no age jokes now!) and I was so happy to have something steamier to read. Joanne Rock (among a few others) became my favorite Go To author for deliciousness between the covers. Even though I haven’t read very many Harlequins in about 10 years now, I can say that Joanne Rock is still delighting me. Bravo!

Joanne Rock has done it again. She writes great sexy romances that draw you into the story. I was given an arc for an honest review, and I definitely recommend this book. When he meets Miranda, who has come to look at his shack for her tea room, he thinks she is there to get him to introduce her to his father. There are some surprises in store for both of them, as well as some mystery and great sex.

She’s found the perfect place, and as long as the owner does not recognize her everything should be good. Sometimes we don’t always get what we wish for. Damien Fraser owns the property that houses the charming little building that Miranda wants to use for her shop. He’s gotten away from the media world, and he is happy where is life is right now. He needs the money that he can get from selling Miranda the building on his property, but there is no way that he wants the media in his world again and that’s exactly what she will bring to his peaceful life. Miranda Cortland tries to buy a tea room at the front of his property and has prescribed herself therapy to get over her shyness and sexual hangups by writing a naughty novel filled with all the titillating details she can dream up. And who better to teacher her how to get over the man who done her wrong by dumping her for then marrying her fabulously attractive sister, while still coming on to her yet chastising her abilities at every turn? If she can write it or dream it, she can do it, right? So, she tries and scores. But, will it be enough to keep ranch owner Damien Frasier, who blanches just thinking about the horrors of growing up in the spotlight as a famous Hollywood movie-maker’s son, when her fans trail her to his out of the way station in wine country? Things get really interesting when the oh so dastardly ex tries to contact her, after splitting with her ex and learning she got a decent chunk of change after proving a good, nice girl can be a Gutsy Girl too. But is their budding romance, scorching sex and a shared dislike of the limelight and hangers-on be enough to pull them through or gouge a chasm so deep and wide there’s no way to bridge it? It’s a Joanne Rock book, of course they’ll get there, but not without a lot of growth and work, and one humdinger of a climax. And some smokin’ hot moments even Miranda’s alter book ego Shaelynn couldn’t dream up.

Miranda also knew that her ex-boyfriend was stalking her and hope that Los Angeles would be big enough for her to hide. She left Los Angeles when people were starting to recognize her as the "back stabber" from the reality show. Being broke and not getting stable acting gigs, Miranda went on a reality show and became an overtime celebrity. She has the money she won on the show to open her tea room on a property that Damien is selling to her. When Damien found out that Miranda is a reality-star celebrity, he withdrew his offer to Miranda. Damien didn't want the drama that come with his past. Every women that he dated wanted his connection to his famous father who is a movie director. He was suspicious on what Miranda wants from her. There is one scene that I just love when Damien saw Miranda working on her computer and demanded to know what she was working on. I just love when she finally told him that she was working on a naughty book. It threw Damien a loop. I was given this book by the publisher through Net Gallery for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.

Her dreams take her to Sonoma, where she hopes to buy Damien Fraser's little property to fulfill her dreams. Only once he finds out she's famous, he puts the brakes on her ideas. But Miranda isn't about to give up and decides to make herself indispensable to him and to earn his trust. She does that and manages to attract his sexual attention as well. And her naughty novel, full of her sexual fantasies, helps her in that department as well. This was a pretty great story. I liked Miranda and how she was rather complicated, being both immature and mature and in being determined to achieve her dreams and overcome her past mistakes. Damien was a nice, but a bit unexciting. But their relationship was well written and you could see the friendship developing alongside the romance. I was a bit confused about the villain and how a missed call on the cell phone from the sister would cause everyone to leap to the conclusion that the guy was after Miranda to hurt her. I didn't quite understand how that happened. Maybe if someone had called the sister back... Still, a pretty great read.

I give it 3.5 stars. I was given this book to review. It was the first time I’ve ever read Joanne Rock but it won’t be the last. I won’t go into the description of the story as you can find it above. Joanne Rock writes a story with a sexy theme. And while it has a very suggestive title and does in fact contain a few sexy scenes, it is actually a sweet, funny love story. It’s the standard romance theme, with no real surprises, but I was not disappointed. I didn't give it a higher score only because I give it 3.5 stars. I was given this book to review. My Secret Fantasies is a nice, easy, entertaining read. It has an interesting story line that unfolds at a steady pace. It doesn’t rush into conclusions, or wrap it up too abruptly. This book was well written with a good bit of humor. It depicted realistic scenarios without any over the top heroics. The characters were genuine and enjoyable. They are written with such detail you really feel you know them. They were famous, but didn’t live outrageous lives. I felt their circumstances were well thought out, and aptly described the issues of today.

I received from the author in exchange for an honest review. Loved this book! It was very fast and fun. Miranda is such a spunky fun character. She's very relatable. He's all set to sell a spot on his farm to Miranda until he realizes that she was on a tv show and doesn't want the media that would follow her. He soon realizes that she doesn't want the attention and starts falling for her. The chemistry between the two was very steamy. I loved how he let her call the shots on how fast they moved since she was hurt so badly by her ex. He was very protective of her and wanted to help her heal. Definitely recommend if looking for a fun fast read.

I really liked this one. This is the first Joanne Rock I've read but it makes me want to look for more. The characters are believable and relatable with a good mix of strengths and flaws, confidence and vulnerability. Rock combines 1st person narrative (for the heroine) with 3rd person narrative (for the hero), which could be really awkward but somehow isn't. I like knowing how each of the main characters is feeling/thinking and somehow the mixed viewpoint works in this novel. The storyline was I really liked this one. The storyline was a classic romance--running away from mistakes and troubled pasts when they find themselves and each other. They fall in love over the course of days when weeks might have been more believable, but then, there are only so many pages and it's not unusual for romance novels to have love-at-first-sight meetings (which the characters fight against in another nod toward reality). Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance and I will look for more of Joanne Rock's books!

I was surprised to enjoy this book as much as i did because for the title i was afraid it would be too steamy for me. Joanne Rock did write a steamy story , two in fact if we count the one Miranda is writing as her own erotic novel; however the relationship between Damien and Miranda is more on teh sweet side. They do have steamy scene yes but they learn about each other slowly, come to trust each other and with their hesitation and fears they are both sweet. I loved to see Damien discovers himself and Miranda is stronger than she thought. I just would have wanted to see Rick punished strongly^^;; and Miranda 's sister get what she deserves and it would have been even better The plot isn't too original but the wrote it in a way that you get immersed in the story and want to see how and what will happen, you can have guesses but you want to be sure. it was good contemporary romance

From the time she helped with the foaling of his favorite mare to handling unexpected and uninvited guests to winning over his ranch hands with her quiches to her unfinished erotic novel in which he's the star, Damien soon realizes that Miranda is one woman he can't live without! Miranda knew from the first that Damien is her soul mate so when her past catches up to her, it's doubly hard to move on. Thing is, will Damien let her go? I've read many of this author's books and enjoyed them. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them and I don't know why.

Miranda Cortland survived a reality TV show and emerged a winner. Now she wants her life back. She plans to open a tea room. She is meeting Damien Fraser to buy a small building on his horse farm. There is powerful attraction between them but just as powerful is their fear of love. They are both fugitives from Hollywood who have unresolved issues with their respective families. Can these two find a HEA? I do recommend this book as both main characters go through soul searching and realize you can do anything as long as you love yourself and respect yourself and others. The story is lighthearted but tackles the world of reality TV after the cameras turn off and how people move on after. Anyone who has ever had to struggle with self confidence will really identify with the main character. I did not know about these being part of a miniseries, but its a great book to read by itself. Um. Yeah. Wow!!! LOL I don't read a lot of adult books. I tend to stay with the YA and the occasional NA book. I read this book because I really enjoy the YA Camp Boyfriend books Joanne wrote and figured I would give this one a try. NICE!! I read this book in a few hours. I couldn't put it down. The two main characters really complimented each other. There was just enough romance, comedy, feel good, drama, easily lovable characters to make this read a very enjoyable one. I liked this story a lot. The heroine was quirky, but the hero saw her vulnerability and her kindness. In spite of the heat level, I think of this as a sweet romance. She's a damsel in distress, and he turns out to be her knight on a white horse. When she confesses she's trying to write an erotic novel, it turns him on and he is willing to help her with 'research'. A really great romance. My favorite places, with quiet living in the country, horses, tea, writing about sex, and lots of fun stuff between the characters. Oh, they fall in love, too. and have their happily ever after. I do not want to reveal too much because I do not want to spoil the story for other readers.

I was given this book by author for honest review. Running from the media and wanting a place of her own Miranda heads to a new life at Fraser Farms. Damien the owner is leery to begin with but soon realizes the spunky “Gusty Girl” is the one for him. Things are heated in this somewhat suspense story of love and fantasies.

This is a spicy little romance and a quick read. Our leads have problems they have to overcome before they can allow themselves to consider a relationship. I liked that there was a bit of suspense in the story, an opportunity for the hero to act like a hero in the eyes of the heroine. The spice was mild but not intrusive.
