Lily doesn't like change although it seems to follow her everywhere she goes: change of house, change of school, change of friends. She does a pretty good job at rejecting it every chance she gets, but when she stumbles upon an enchanted world full of crystal stone beaches, mermaids, and witches, everything moves faster than she can even perceive possible. And no one seems Lily doesn't like change although it seems to follow her everywhere she goes: change of house, change of school, change of friends. "Lost Nowhere" by Phoebe Garnsworthy follows a young girl named Lily as she travels through the magical world of Sa Neo, meeting various characters and experiencing situations that open her mind to the wonders and possibilities of life. We later find out that not everything in Sa Neo is pleasant or kind and some do not have Lily's best interests in mind. Initially Lily is opposed to change and is stuck in her negative mind set. We later find out that not everything in Sa Neo is pleasant or kind and some do not have Lily's best interests in mind. Initially Lily is opposed to change and is stuck in her negative mind set. Throughout her journey we witness Lily's character development which became one of my favourite parts of the novel. At the beginning of the book she is very immature and insecure, which made her an instantly unlikeable character. Later, while reading the book, I was surprised to find I was rather enjoying her character and had grown admiration for her. We also get to see Lily look back on her past with wisdom and realize she only believed that she had problems because of the people around her telling her so. "Lost Nowhere" really is a book where the reader learns alongside the main character. It is a novel about self discovery and learning to accept yourself even when others do not. It shows the importance of listening to your own voice and not letting negative voices influence you. I found this book to be full of these interesting and true concepts that I could apply and further incorporate in my life. The book manages to conquer several topics effortlessly: fear, loving ones self, change, life and death. "Although our thoughts can be cruel sometimes, it's important to understand that you do not have to believe them, you have a choice everyday." I did find at times that the story got complex or confusing, resulting in me losing some interest which is why I did not give it a full amount of stars. Overall I think Lost Nowhere has themes that will apply to anyone who wants to listen. The story is peculiar as well as powerful and unique. There are some parts I am still left to wonder about - Lily's relationship with the mermaids, the underwater world of Neosa and even the possibility of Silvia finding her family. A random note but something I found fun was to compare where I was in the book with the beautiful illustrations on the cover and follow Lily's journey. I really admire the message Garnsworthy gives and how she encourages conscious living and unconditional love. Thank you to the her for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review! This novel was self-published and is available on amazon for purchase.

This book is different from most fantasy novels I’ve ever read. The protagonist sets foot in a fantasy world as through a dream, where every character represents a certain idea or emotion, and is led through a journey of self discovery. The main character, Lily, starts off as a troubled teenager and as the book goes on, she evolves with the help of the numerous characters of the book. The book focuses more on understanding life and reality, rather than identifying a good and an evil; it focuses on accepting every aspect of life rather that battling with the things we don’t like or understand. Every character has a meaning and the elements of the book are highly spiritual. What I love the most about the book are the descriptions and world building: a world of mermaids and crystals, of rituals and queens that rule different sides of this enchanted realm, ruling by their own convictions. Every character represents an aspect of life or emotion that you should go through and experience in your journey to self discovery, starting with the most sincere kindness and ending with the most unpleasant grief. It teaches us that we must embrace every emotion, that we are able of doing as much as we can imagine only if we ever dare to dream. We are able to make ourselves rise or fall depending on what we are more attracted to. The book teaches us that there is good in the world and always a hand we can reach to when in need and that sometimes the bad things must be embraced and taken as they are, for we cannot change the course of destiny or fate, we cannot interfere and try to stop something that is meant to happen. Every journey has a destination, every encounter a lesson to be learned. A life does not end in vain, every bit of existing energy is used, restored and recycled, never dead or gone. I was really surprised by this book. Although it challenges you to rethink your understanding of life and parameters of reality, it is incredibly easy to read. The actions are fluid, the characters are easy to love and get to know. The descriptions, once again, are the best part of the book, every setting and character being described individually.

As a first time author, Garnsworthy is killing it with her creative writing style. I have never read something so visually compelling and fascinating in my entire life. It was truly compelling, and every reader should get the chance to experience it too. Along with a compelling writing style, Lost Nowhere takes you to a whole new world where anything and everything can happen. I loved Garnsworthy's inspiring world and characters so much! Lily is such a reliable and mundane character, she reminded me a lot of myself throughout the novel. And I have a feeling that other reader felt the same way too. I also loved the other amazing unique characters like that would teach you and Lily something new with every new adventure Lily embarks on. You learn something new whether it be a skill or revelation, Garnsworthy slowly teaches her readers something new. I read long into the night and early morning because I couldn't put it down, the world and characters Garnsworthy created were just so good. They kept me on the edge of my seat! And speaking of learning, I have never felt more connected to a book in such an up-close and personal way before. Beautiful imagery as well as deep messages. I really enjoyed this book! I hadn't read a book just for fun in over a year, and I very rarely read fiction. I loved all of the details. I felt like I could see everything as it played out. And how wonderful to weave in so many deeper messages about things like acceptance and self-love. Well done, Phoebe Garnsworthy! I highly recommend this book.

I didn’t want to read a fluffy or romanticized journey on how to love yourself! But I was surprised! This book was written beautifully and poetically with a main character that you will fall in love with. Her journey was magical and the way she dealt with her issues was real. It wasn’t fluffy but raw and thought through. The author have traveled the world and you can tell that she is well informed about the topics in her book. Lily’s, the main character, journey was about learning to understand, accept, and love oneself. If this book sounds like something you would enjoy I highly recommend it! I gave this book Five Stars because the story was lovely, it was written with some of the best details I ever read in a book, and this book will be forever engraved on my heart. The characters in this book are amazing and whimsical! Lily was the perfect main character! I love her dearly and you just want her to be happy! You will met many characters throughout this book and each one is unique! You have so much fun reading about them because they all have amusing but genuine personalizes. You can see each character clearly in your head. You will enjoy almost every character. They are written with lots of love and you can tell it. Not only are the characters wonderful but the world is mind blowing! I honestly can’t believe how well this world is written and described! While reading I felt like I was there, living, smelling, and feeling this world. The reading of the this book was magical! You are on this journey with Lily so you will learn tips about how to love yourself. It is almost like you are learning to love yourself along with Lily. You get to watch Lily’s transformation and it will make you feel hopeful. This book is one of the best self-discovering books on there today. Since I have just raved about this book so far it is now time to talk about the cons but luckily there aren’t many! My main issue with this book is that I am not 100% sure what time period this book was set it while reading it. I am guessing it is the late 1800s or it might be in the 1900s or 2000s for all I know but this doesn’t affect the story line because you aren’t in the “real” world 95% of the book.. Lastly, some people might not like the ending but I can’t say why without spoilers. Basically some people may not feel like the ending is closed but to me the ending is perfect! Lily’s journey is over so the story have ended but that is my opinion. This book is perfect for anyone who have questioned life and yourself. I highly recommend this book. It is magical and heart-felt. You should buy a copy and I want to mention that this book is self-published which is great! It is important to support new/self-published authors because there are some amazing self-published books out in the world! Please give this book a try and let me know if read it! I will be interviewing the author soon! Look out for her interview on my blog because it is going to be amazing!

I really appreciate it :) Lost Nowhere is basically a fantasy based story, it revolves around a young girl named Lily and her journey of self-discovery in the world Sa Neo. Lily at the beginning was your typical spoiled child, though I wouldn't really call her that, in my opinion she was just simply a young girl acting normal at her age. What I really liked about this book would definitely be the message being sent across by the author to young children. Or even if you're an adult, you can still enjoy reading this just as much. I personally liked the background story of Lily, losing her mom and being stuck with a single parent; I feel like any kid could relate to this. Her problem of talking to the doctor and all that, really can affect someone especially a young girl, so at the end of the day, I understand where Lily's "attitude" was coming from. The world building of the fantasy realm itself was good and well written, although there were some parts where I felt like it was becoming a bit repetitive especially in Lily's case but all in all it was good development coming from her. Same goes with the other characters, her story of going through different parts of Sa Neo made the book longer in a way because of the vivid descriptions. I already mentioned this before in one of my previous reviews but I'll say it again because in a way it is kind of related; I genuinely appreciate stories like these and other books that deal with different life issues especially in the contemporary area because the amount of help that it can bring to the younger generation really changes things. The fact that this was written with a fantasy concept makes it very unique because it attracts the young ones (adults too) but most especially the younglings, when given this book they can automatically sense that they're not alone in this world and that what they're going through, the solution is as simple as going through a magical world and discover how important it is to surround yourself with love and positivity. Would definitely recommend to readers who are looking for something different and something light to read on. Special thanks again to the author for sending a copy!! Till next time, bookworms x

Okay, I don't mean to be a hater here, but is no one going to talk about the massive blunder in pages 176 to 179, where the "yellow-eyed" man goes from being a "bearded middle-aged man" to a "handsome young man" to an "old man" with no explanation or acknowledgement? Not to mention the numerous typos and mechanical errors throughout the book, although this is less of a concern. Intriguing book with lessons on how to accept and love yourself. At times, it felt like an English assignment in high school. Every time someone smirked, I was pulled out of the story. I can understand why Jade smirked but why Karisma and her father, this was very distracting for me.

I was sent this book for reviewing and I was pretty excited to read it. I got my hands on it the moment it arrived and even though I was nervous at the beginning cause I wanted my first review to be honest and I wasn't ready for being disappointed with that book, I found myself really enjoying it. Now honestly, my first thought after reading the synopsis was "interesting" I got Alice in Wonderland vibes but I didn't want it to be a copy of Alice in wonderland and reading it I was afraid that it would be. But soon enough I noticed that this book might take place in a magic world full of weird incidents but it's nothing like Alice in wonderland. This book has a deeper meaning. Through Lily's experiences I was introduced to a wonderful world of self-love and peace. The world of Sa Neo is full of magic and knowledge, love and power that comes from within every one of us. I was really intrigued by the concept of magical realism that I fully devoted to reading open minded, ready to process new information and ready to experiment with a new genre. Honestly this book reminded me some things that I already knew but have forgotten or neglected. At this point of my life when I'm nearly finishing school, I have many things to think about as my fuure, my grades and most important, my career, so this period in my life is really stresful which makes me constantly doubt myself and feel insecure. Now This book reminded me that I have the power to create my world and that I'll have to believe in myself in order to succeed. Phoebe Gransworthy managed to create a wonderfully written, carefully made world based on such an interesting story line which covers some really important topics as beliving in yourself and loving those around you. The writing was so poetic I was hooked from the first chapter. Generally speaking I'm not a big fan of long descriptions but those in Lost Nowhere we're so poetically written that I couldn't resist savouring every one of them. Now for the characters. Lily is the main character in the book which is described as a mentally troubled girl full of insecurities. If I had to describe that book with one phrase I would say extremely good character development. I think one of the goals of the book is to show the change in Lily's character after her adventures in the magical world she finds below her new house and Phoebe archieved that goal gloriously. I could see the change in Lily in every chapter and I think a part of me changed along with her.  The other characters were well developed too. Each and every one of the people that Lily met in her journey had a reason to be there and every one of them represented a different value or taught Lily a new lesson while at the same time they were wise and mysterious and all of them had a unique character. Now, as for the book itself, the cover is wonderfully illustrated and its signifying of the content of the book. I rated this book 5/5 stars cause it's unlike anything I've ever read. It might have a seen-before setup (girl moves house, travels to magical world) but the concept is quite original and Phoebe's writing is brilliant. If you've ever wondered why we're here, what's our purpose in this world or if you've ever been insecure about yourself you should definitely read this book. I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to read it and I would definitely read another book Phoebe writes.

My first impression about this book is that it’s a magical read; which is 100% yes. This book is about a father and a daughter; the daughter experiences some sort of anxiety. The characters are good, though at some parts you might hate Lily (the daughter). But you’ll be amazed how wild her imagination is. I myself was awe how the author make this book, everything in this book enchanting and really interesting… the world the author have created is indeed fantastic. There are points in this book that will reminds you about the adventure of Alice in the Wonderland. I love how the author come up with that idea on how Lily discovered the places.. The book is really amazing! If you have read fantasies before, this one is different it will surely me you go wild and dream it every night; a story that will surely linger for so long. Really magical and vividly written. I love the whole concept of this book, this should be read by middle graders. Though the book is full of magic that will surely supply all your imagination needs. But what makes this very interesting is that I teaches lessons to everyone who will read it. You will learn to love yourself, forgive and move on. I love how an enchanting read teachers a lesson at the same time. A very wonderful book that you can relate to.

Just wow!! It took me a while to finish the book. With all the details that was put into words beautifully, I can't help myself. I was dragged into Lily's world, and most of the time, I got stuck with her as well. Phoebe Garnsworthy is a brilliant writer. The world that she created is a safe place for people like me who constantly zoned-out. (smiley face) I highly recommended this book! Thanks Phoebe for creating this safe heaven.

3.5 stars The book was quite good. I liked the fact that the main characters represented different attitudes of the protagonist and her final "change". Also the setting was pretty good but I don't feel like giving it more than 3 stars right now because the plot could have been developed better.

I was attracted to this book because if the beautiful cover. It also had a lot of the elements I like in a book, such as magic. The book didn't teach me anything I didn't know already though. However hard it sometimes is, you can hardly change the reality you're in. You have to accept it and make it work instead of trying to keep finding it. Life is a journey with lots of bends in the road and crossroads. You can choose which path to take and how to live it.
